Please help in detailing the steps required to transfer the phone manually.
Oh and BTW, the phone book does not transfer automatically..........no matter how long you wait during/after the pairing process.

The Phonebook Access Profile or PBA profile is a proposed part of the BT spec. Currently it is version 0.9 and in draft prototyping spec phase and isn't due to be a full 1.0 version that is ratified until late this year or early next year. Right now, vendors are just guessing and any interoperability is basic at best. I read recently that a new CIP revision is due soon (19) that will extend the compatibility for more phones (I'm assuming this means that they've enhanced this profile somewhat), but the phone you pick has to have some form of this profile as well.

I suppose the good news is that this should all work itself out in the next year or so. Hopefully all our phones will be able to be flashed with new code to fully support the standard when it emerges. The car hopefully will have no trouble in this regard.
