When I listen to a voicemail on my iPhone (through visual voicemail), it never plays through my car's audio system. The Bluetooth link works fine when I'm making/receiving calls. I'm only having a problem with listening to voicemails. The iPhone has my car selected as the audio output source for the voicemail, and I always have to change this back to the iPhone in order to hear voicemails.
Has anyone figured out the fix for this, or is this a bug that will remain until new iPhone/iDrive software corrects it?

I have same issue. Bluetooth works fine but I can't listen voicemail while in the car. Not only I can not listen voicmail through speakers - I can not even listen it on Iphone while i's connected to the car.
will wait if someone knows how to fix that

You can listen on the iPhone by clicking the audio button and then selecting iPhone. That's the only way I can hear voicemails in my car.
Does it take a while for your car to pair with your iPhone when you crank the car?

You guys just need to press and hold "1" (assuming you haven't set it to call another speed dial). The iPhone will bypass visual voicemail altogether and will dial in to the regular AT&T voicemail system as a normal call - the audio will play in your car via Bluetooth like any other call. The iPhone visual voicemail is all handled in software on the phone, the AT&T voicemail backend is still in place and you can still use it as normal.
