I don't know if anyone has info. on this yet, but I'm gathering the iphone will have an ipod type port on the bottom. I wonder if that will allow you to plug it up to a BMW kit and use it as an ipod, while charging it and having it available via BT as the car's phone?
I use a RAZR now with a snap in cradle. The only feature that will be lost if the above is true in rgard to the iphone will be the signal boost from using the sharkfin antenna via the snap in cradle (which works so well it allows for clear calls when the phone would otherwise have no signal at all).
Has anyone heard any iphone/BMW rumors?

Talk about future planning...
My guess is that if the iphone is fully compatible with the BMW then a cradle will appear about a year later. Until then its DIY.
Speaking of which I recently sold my custom made P910i cradle to a guy who couldn't believe I had actually made it. I took that as a compliment.

That's brilliant that you made your own cradle. I'm not so handly myself, but I would pay for one. Seems like an aftermarket opportunity (albiet a small one...).
BTW. For once us Yankees are getting the goods before you. The iphone goes on sale here in the U.S. - fingers crossed - in just over 3 weeks.
Cheers,

Lets hope the iPhone can connect to iDrive via bluetooth. Power wise I believe there would be cigaretter lighter chargers available.
