what firmware are you running? did you turn off wi-fi? did you try re-pairing?

beolight Jan 30, 2008 12:19 AM

yeah i have done all of that turn engine off remove remove key etc

quickest way to reconnect seems to be turn bluetooth off on iphone and then back on again

not exactly what you want to be doing in a car is it

firmware 1.1.2 i never upgrade firmware straight away as with apple its too much like being a beta tester

I have had this to, so I upgraded my Iphone to 1.1.13 but it made no difference, infact it caused a lock up in the idrive. I took it in under warranty and had the software upgraded, took 6 hours, with a slight improvement but still dropping connection etc.

Having trawled the web it seems that BMW have now released another upgrade last Thursday after finally admitting the problem, my car is going back to the dealer on Monday for this so I will report back then.

@ jotty

any chance you can provide link to bmw upgrade for iphone

Its the one mentioned in your first post on the apple site, I mentioned this to BMW Customer support and they confirmed an update was available to those who had problems with Idrive and was free if under warranty.

Jotty, any chance you can provide us details regarding the software update?

Quick update, took my car into dealer this morning they have spent all day trying to convince me its my fault until finall at 5pm they confirmed that BMW had relaesed an iphone update on the 23rd of Jan 2 days after they had reinstalled my idrive software. Its going in on Thurs for a 2 day upgrade on the software only problem now is convincing them that it is a warranty issue as they caused the problem when the idrive crashed.

I will keep you posted.
