Does the iPhone transfer it's contacts every time you get in the car? I noticed that, when making a call fir the first time on any given drive, there is about a 5-10 second delay before I can access the full contact list on iDrive. This is on an 09 535i.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the address book is not stored in the car but loaded each time.

I am fairly confident that while it does need to do some syncing each time, there is some level of caching that happens, and the first first time one syncs the phone up it takes what feels like an interminably long time, not merely the 5-10 seconds. Whether it's checking for updates or something, it does seem to store some data.
