have you tried clearing your other phones from the idrive? I just paired my ip5 to my e90 m3, granted my car is a bit newer I don't see why it shouldn't work.

is your phone or e60 not recognizing each other when searching to connect? or do they find each other, pass codes entered, but nothing there after?

My iPhone 5 paired to my 545 no problems. Remember, you have to enter the 4 digits into the i drive and then click down (ie towards rear of car) and select the pair phone (or whatever command it says below the row of numbers.)

my ip5 connects fine to my 07. Do what Gene said and clear out your old iphone. Did you forget to do the pass code when you paired it?

One problem with the iPhone 5 when you buy the adapter from lighting port to 30 pin is that it doesn't support iPod out.

Been using my iPhone 5 with quite a few different peripherals and have found the lighting connector to work fine with all of my third party devices, (i.e. IR port dongle and miscellaneous docking and chargers).

I added a newer bluetooth module to my 04 530i and it pairs fine after coding for voice. I also added coding for the AUX input and just plan on using the headphone mini-jack connector for my tunes while keeping the changer in place. (Yes, I still burn CDs from my desktop.) I find the I-Drive based browsing to be clunky and prefer just to keep my iPhone within arms reach to browse my library or change Pandora stations.
