iPhone 4 from Verizon
#1
I have a 2007 550i with Bluetooth, Nav system, sharkfin antenna. No apparent cableing to the "money tray" (and no cell adapter in place). Can the adapter be cabled in, so I could use the adapter for my cell phone, which is about to be th iPhone 4 from Verizon?

You can indeed install the cradle. Note that this will provide you with a power supply and connection to the external antenna. The music will not play from the phone to the stereo, and the phone functionality is still Bluetooth. I have heard that BMW has an iPhone 4 Sanp-in adapter but it is not yet available in the USA.

One of the most significant limitations of the BMW "snap in" phone adapters is they are made so that a "specific" phone fits and connects to the thing. But phones (at least the physical configuration/size/shape/placement of conectors, etc) seem to change every 12-28 months. So the snap in adapter is fine if you plan to keep your phone for 3-4 years, or if an updated adapter becomes available and you're willing to pay the $150 or so for a new adapter plate.
And, I don't think a Droid snap-in is available ... I'll update my Droid1 in 3-4 months ... for sure the iPhones will update in less than a year ... so, for me, keeping a charger handy is the best option for me. Having access to the shark fin antennae would help in weak signal areas but for most situations BT connects fine.
