Yeah, again it seems that 3.0 is the thing that's giving the problems. Is 3.0.1 or the next one after 3.0 out yet? I thought I remembered seeing something about it recently. Apple should fix this soon as I'm sure it's happening to everyone else with a non-BMW.

 

There was a new update out a week or so ago to fix the SMS security issue. Not sure if that helps in any way and have not plugged in my 3Gs, I rely on the Touch for music.

 

I'm going to plug this iphone 3GS into my friend's 335i and see if it has the same problem.

The other interesting thing is...I plugged my gf's ipod nano and the idrive recognises it but the playlist is all mumbo jumbo and its all guesswork on the songs.....is this normal?

 

Ive got a 2007 535d and a 2007 320Ci both using BMW Y cables bought in 2007. iphone 3Gs 16gb works fine in both with full functionality and charging. I get a message on the iphone screen when first plugged into the BMW cable say " This accessory is not designed to work with iphone -Do you want to turn Airplane mode ON" I just select "No" and it works fine. Iphone has software v 3.1

3G iphones use a different pin for charging (usb pin rather than firewire pin on the 30 pin plug) so this may cause issues with some cables.
