How to play music in E60 with Android phone?

Hi,

I've been using the Y-cable to play music from my iPhone through the iPod hookup under the armrest, but now I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which isn't recognized when I use just a USB cable with the AUX input. In the past, I was able to use a USB thumb drive just fine though. I'm assuming I can listen to music using a male-to-male audio cable, but would prefer to use iDrive rather than phone to select tracks.

I searched the forum but didn't find a related post. Any suggestions?

The Y-cable is specific to the iPod and iPhone. If you can put your phone in USB Storage mode, a USB cable should do the trick.

I did not use the Y-cable with Galaxy S4, I used a regular USB cable, but iDrive still did not recognize the device. I'm assuming the phone goes into storage mode by default when hooked up by USB since I can browse the phone with no problem on my Windows pc.

Ok nevermind, it works now. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first few times, but I got it to work. :)
