What kind of a phone do you have and how did you load the data onto it to begin with?

I use a Motorola V551, and i didn't do anything... it just transferred someone to my car even with engine off... I just left the phone there in the car while I was working... so probably within 3-4 hours, I noticed my phonebook was partially in there

The Synchronization profile on the BMW is quite passive. It is also slow. When you change a number in your phonebook, it can take hours to show up on the I-Drive. The initial load can take from minutes to hours. I really don't know what triggers it.

This is quite different than an OBEX transfer like on a Lexus. The user is prompted to send the contacts from the phone during what is basically a manual process. If the contacts on the phone change, the car has the old data until the user initiates the next data transfer session.

Delete the phone from the I-Drive and then try re-pairing it again. If the problem persists then download Motorola Phone Tools, transfer to a PC and take a look at the format of the phone numbers. Look for a difference in the formatting between the contacts that did transfer, vs. those which did not.

I think you will see some extra spaces or punctuation, or the car is not taking in the data because of some other formatting problem.
