My Ride: 2006 550i Build date 11/2005 options include: cold weather package/ convenience package/premium sound package/ sport package/sunshades/Navigation/ V3 cradle/ OE 166 wheels/M-tech upgrade/M rear spoiler/ racemesh m-tech grill/racemesh kidney grills/M5 mirrors/M5 steering wheel/ HID fog light conversion/ M5 SMG paddles
Default

I installed the V3 phone cradle - everything appears to be fine. The phone charges and gets much better signal. The option that doesnt work is the privacy button. No matter how I try to operate this option my conversations will not go private from the 'over the radio mode' to handheld only.

Does this only work if its programmed, or the CIP is upgraded?

Its the button with the speaker symbol on the cradle - the instructions state that while youre on a call you can press this button to isolate your conversation to the hand held only.

I've tried to use the button but no luck on my V3i. I never gave it a second try and for all I know I wasn't patient enough for phone to switch over.
