Hi all.
i Got my GW500 installed yesterday after a software upgrade.
today i was back to the BMW dealer and had the Ipod retrofit and Phone ready installed in the car.
No i got
DVD CD CD1 CD2 CD3 CD4 CD5 CD6
but i cant choose the CD1,2,3,4,5,6
i have updated the firmware in teh GW500 by the USB and it worked like a charm. the file is gone afterwords (Wich is supposed to)
i got a E60 2005/04-29
Big navi.
The BLT is not shown eighter in the phone menu.
i have checked the pins on the GW600 they are 2upp and the last one is up
i have no CDC in the car.
so the GW is supposed to be installed like 3A acording to the manual
Anyone that have aclue on that it can be?
Im sitting in the car and my laptop is running out of battery :-(

I had some problems getting the car to detect the GW500 too.
I have the CDC, so i connected it differently.
Make sure you have enabled the MP3 and CDC options by the dealer. (Not only iPod retrofit, insert a MP3 CD-ROM into the audio-disc drive to test the MP3 option!)
Also, connect the small box that comes with the gateway and has the RCA plugs on it (for AUX connections). Reset the fiber-optic ring with the little hole on top of that box.
Make sure the "pass-thru" button is not pressed on that box too.
Bluetooth is a completely different problem, but it will only work if you've got the BTA1500 add-on AND disable the TCU (i've created a topic on this).

it works fine with the MP3 cd so the MP3 option is working just fine.
the box with the RCA plugs is installed and there is a blue lamp (Steady shine= its in GW mode)
i have tryed to reset the bos (In the small hole aswell)
The cars here in Europe dont have the TCU from the factore only you guys who is so lucky :-)
But i think the BLT1500 will work as soon as the GW is working :-)

Basically: If you have a phone in the armrest and/or have the SOS button, you have a TCU.
(Rip out the trim on the left side of trunk to find it)
To get your bluetooth to work, you HAVE to disable the TCU, otherwise it just won't work properly.
Are you trying to connect your GW with or without the BTA1500 attached?

Try it without the bluetooth module first. It can save a lot of headache.
