Having partially solved my problems with the SII I upgraded to a Note 4. Does it work - does it hell.
It will pair, will not load the phone book and then drops the bluetooth connection and has to be paired again.
Not sure I will find a solution here. BMW really needs to keep up and stay ahead of the game.

Interesting. With Android 4.4.4 is the phone or is it the car?

Just tested my wife's Note 3 Android 4.4.2 - of course the damn thing works perfectly.

Having upgraded to Android 5.01 which BMW says is compatible, the pairing problem continues. The phone will pair, will try to download the phonebook, fail and then drop the connection altogether. BMW merely send the basic pairing instructions when asked, so are no use at all.
I've tried various Apps to aid Bluetooth pairing but these are no help.

Hey all,
With your (working) connected Note 3,4,5 or 6... do you only have the phone part connected via Bluetooth or phone and media (namely music/MP3)? My 2004 545i only connects the phone portion to my Samsung Note 3. Is there a way to get the media connected too?
Thanks!

Media doesn't connect at all .. and definitely not meant to be or an option via bluetooth. The funny thing is that if I'm on a bluetooth connected phone call, then notifications will go through the speaker/car. If someone can figure it out I'm sure you could get the bluetooth media.. but I have yet to hear anyone attempt it.

Upgraded to a Note 5, Android 6.0.1
Pairs w/ BT fine, but will not download phonebook. So cannot call out via iDrive.
Maintains a solid BT connection and will receive calls, but the phonebook just ain't happening.
