Frustrated
Just change my work phone to a Nokia E70, mainly to get Blackberry e-mail functionality with a decent phone.
Pairs fine with my May 2006 E60 but no phonebook synchronisation.
Anyone experienced the same thing?

Why the frustration ? They're not on the BMW bluetooth compatibility list - are they?
Any phone not on the list has no garantee it will work. Some pair but no address book - some don't pair at all, while others play with firmware...consider yourself lucky you can at least make/receive calls !

Same here. Changed Nokia 6230i which worked very good with the car bluetooth with Nokia N73 and i have same problem with phonebook.
Could you send in a pic of your car taken with your new cell, please!
For comparison I put a couple of pics of my old E60, these pics are
taken with a 1,3 Mpic Nokia (6670).
Sorry that I can't help you with the issue itself, but I would contact my BMW dealer,
also a look at the nokia.com site can help...

N70/N73 is not on the UK list either, though.
Good for "listy" people.
Incidentally sometimes all that's needed is a phone firnware upgrade to acheive full comapatibility (eg Nokia 6230 can be made fully compatible).

Granted I strive for the practical approach as well - but the list provided (and the UK one) simply states which phones are compatible for our E60's in the sense of providing full service and in addition to hardware (adapters) availability. Personally I like to have the signal out of the car - whilst recharging is an added (occasional) benefit.
Sure you can try other phones - no one objects to this - just have in mind one might not be able to utilise all functions, if any at all sometimes.
The list is useful to avoid frustration when you just want a bloody phone that works !!

eg
Nokia 6021 v03.83 N 03/05 Limited
Siemens SL75 22 N 03/06 Limited
No adapter and limited compatability - like any number of other phones.
It makes you wonder what use the list is.
