Just curious how much everyone paid to enable the bluetooth feature in their cars (not changing the TCU).

How did you manage this?

I heard this job can be from 1-3 hours. If a technician doesn't has experience, why do I have to pay more? I've searched posts and found some people paid an hr of labor. I don't get it.

My dealer has quoted me US$117 for the BT activation software upgrade. I have an appointment for 1/3 to get it done.

I got the BT update yesterday. Dealer installed it and activated it . Total cost was $129 w/ taxes.

I paired my phone (Motorola V505) last night but haven't tried making/recieving any calls yet. This morning, I saw my phone on the "phones" list on idrive, but there was no connection to my phone. I'm wondering if there is a setting on the V505 to continuously search for BT devices rather than having to manually change the "bt power" settings to "on". Anyone know this offhand?

Close as I can come is the v551 which has a "Set Bluetooth Permanently On" via the Settings/Connection/Bluetooth Link/Setup/Power/On. Cannot be sure your v505 is same.

$0 as well. Negotiated it into the purchase agreement.
