We'll let you know when the iPhone goes on sale.

The iPod will work in the E60 via either the aux or MOST iPod interface. MP3 CDs will play in most newer E60's.

My brother in law is a VP for apple sales and has informed me that it will have an adapter to allow the phone to be used thru the idrive interface the same way the current model does. However he is uncertain of the phone functions thru the idrive at this point. I will let you all know in June...

The iphone seems great - but I highly doubt the phone function will show up somehow on the idrive via the interface. If anything, we'll get a bluetooth connection and hope for the best...

I wouldn't want an iphone in the glovebox though..if it becomes your daily cell phone I wouldn't be in the mood to keep connecting/disconnecting the thing in the glovebox every day.

FWIW, I have tried to pair an A2DP/AVRCP device to the E60, and the A2DP/AVRCP device doesn't recognize the car as having the profiles (no big surprise). Any access to stereo audio will need to be wired unless BMW is planning a pretty radical upgrade to the BT stack.

That Cisco phone is not compatible.

And that Cisco Phone may be the one incorrectly using the iPhone name... http://blogs.zdnet.com/Burnette/?p=236
