My Ride: '08 550i, carbon black, sport package
I have an 11/03 build that I retrofitted with a new tcu.
You need to go to the main i-drive screen, push down once, go to communication settings, on the top of the menu you will see bmw service settings and bluetooth next to that if your tcu has bluetooth.
I would think that they would have replaced your tcu with a recent version. They may have not done an extra step that it takes to activate bluetooth. Do a search for the serial numbers of the tcu's that will work for pre 3/04 cars.
Good luck.

If your car is a build date of 12/03, I would think that your dealer would have updated your car to something above 13.2. The serial number of the TCU will tell you whether you can have bluetooth activated.
I do not us the cradle. I just recently switched to a razr phone. I am in the US. My conversion was the dealers first and I think I knew more than they did! They probably would not be of much help.
