Does anyone's phone ring through the audio system or just on the phone?

On inbound calls, is it phone specific whether the ring is on the handset ot through the speakers?

Through the audio - it mutes the audio and gives a nice chime while the number and name of the calling party comes on the screen. Mine doesn't ring on the handset audibly while it is paired. I haven't attempted to change this behavior, but the setting would need to happen on the phone, the car has no settings for things like this.

OK, does anybody have a V710 that does? It appears that some phones do and others do not ring through the audio.

In mine, both the Stereo and my phone rings (If I have set it to ring mode, or it will vibrate if on vib mode)...
I'm using a V551.

Mine does not, but others on the board have reported that their V710 does ring thru the car's speakers. Very frustrating for me.

It could be your car's software (wild guess)...which CIP version are you on?

16.3

I am guessing that maybe it would be worth a try to change ringtones and see. I am also going to try a friends E815, the successor to the V710.

Verizon is so lousy with Bluetooth that they publish a different "compatability chart" for every phone.

hmm..I don't think changing the ringtone will help since the car uses only 1 ringtone (it's own)....
