My Ride: 545i, Adaptive Xenons, 19" 166's
I have the CPT9000 in my 545i, and never used it. I just installed a BTUM, and noticed I get a message in the Idrive "Please connect or switch on Portable".
I get the same message even when I use the V60 phone. I've looked under the rear vent console, and the 2 cables are connected. Also took the left rear panel off in the trunk and looked for anything obvious, and didn't see any cables hanging.
Can anyone help or am I at the mercy of the dealer?
Thanks
Sonny

Isn't that the old Motorola startac phone? I think they're analog and no longer supported on most cell networks - at least Verizon's. Mine was so-so on my '01 740 and since ditching that phone have been very happy using BT. I do miss being able to put a phone in the console mount to charge and connect to the external antennae but have learned to live with it because BMW can't design phone adapters as fast as they change phone designs!

Problem is I get the above message with the phone.

I had the BTUM in my '04 754i. It worked fine. You said that you never activated the phone, I wonder if that had anything to do with it. In my old car, the phone was activated and the BTUM plugged in and worked just perfectly.
