I have followed the instructions on our site to the letter, but the phone still does not recognize the car. Is it possible that the previous owner used another phone and that I need to change some parameters? All I get is no sources found. Razr is TMob v3, about three weeks old, 545 is 12/04 build (05 model) that has the bluetooth ID in the Idrive...what am I missing? Thanks if you can help...

Are you able to get the RAZR to pair with any other BT device (like a BT headset?)

Can you give us an exact listing of the steps you're taking when you attempt to pair it (both on the phone and on the car?)

Thank you, will do. I'll make notes from the car and get back here. Thanks for the reply.

allenman, check to see if bluetooth is turned on under the settings/connection menu.

Go to settings, select connection, bluetooth link, setup, and check to see if under "power" the setting is ON. If not select it, and turn it on. Assuming that you did get the phone to recognize the car and vice/versa, then this could explain the inability of the phone to connect, once disconnected. Also check under bluetooth link, device history to see if your car is listed. It should show "BMWxxxxx" with the xxxxx being the last five digits of your VIN. If all of the above is OK, then I would remove the phone from the car and the car from the phone and start fresh. I had to do this a couple of times, since unless you get the sequence and timing right, the connection will not complete.

Also, please indicate your location. You could be my next door neighbor, and I could help.

Joe

You can pair up 4 phones. Any other phone that is still paired should be listed on your iDrive screen under *phones*

Thanks for the help from everyone. Yes, bluetooth connection shows enabled in the IDrive menu. . Joe, do you mean my phone should show the BMW ViN as a device, or the car? (I'm not sure how to get any deeper in the menu if you mean the car).

And no, the phone does not appear to recognize the car or vice versa.

Still trying with no success.

Did you put the V3 in Bluetooth discovery mode?

Did you find another paired phones on iDrive? If yes I suggest to delete all previous phones and start the config again from the beggining.
