I can't find where to set the BT to basic vs. advanced on my phone. I looked all over the Connect > Bluetooth menu hierarchy.

I do have my phone set to "Synchronize View", "by last name". I had turned on "e-mail" in the Contact Info also. I turned this off at the same time I changed the Synchroize View. After that my phone and car synched up. Not the best approach for figuring out why it wasn't synching to begin with, but it got the job done. So now I just leave it the way it is.

Very interesting. I had "Synchronize View" by first name (same as my sort order) and I had email selected to synch. I'll try switching one, than the other to see which one actually makes a difference.

Finally got it to work. The only thing that's not working great is if I have a cell, home (and work) numbers per person, I get two (three) entries for that person in the car phonebook without any way to tell which is which, instead of the usual hierachy of name -> home/cell/work/etc. for the person.

Anyone got this to work any better (other than having individual entries "Joe home", "Joe work", etc. in their phone)?

My listing of phone numbers in the car only got added AFTER I deleted the phone and synced it up again.

The list of names does include a separate line for each number without any indication whether it is Home, Office or Cell. The only way to tell is that if an entry is selected it shows the last 8 digits of the phone number - not exactly user friendly!
