Hey guys, I'm trying to find a bluetooth compatible phone that I can buy on the cheap to pair up with my E60 (when I take delivery of it).
Going by the unofficial list of compatible phones on
http://www.x5world.com/html.php?file=bmw_bt_phones.htm
and the official one on
http://www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth/
And comparing that with whats on offer on Ebay, it seems to me that the best buy is the Sony Ericsson T610.
Anyone know of any other phones that are cheaper second hand buys.
Anyone got any comments on the functioning of the T610 with their E60.
Cheers.

I procured my SE T637 for free off the Cingular website when I dumped Sprint. Actually, I made money on the deal, depending on how you look at it (click on my signature under bluetooth for the details).
You need to watch the site closely to catch it.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go for a SE K700i - as soon as you get a few texts it starts to cycle through connecting/disconnecting
. I "downgraded" to a SE T610 and it works perfectly! You get full access to the address book and the audio is fine. I've had loads of people surprised that I'm in a car whilst running at 50mph!

Any one know if the Sony Ericsson T68i works with the BMW E60.
According to
http://www.x5world.com/html.php?file=bmw_bt_phones.htm
It needs to be software version R8A or later, but since this is an X5 dedicated site, I am not sure for E60.
BTW - These phones can be had on Ebay for c.?20 second hand! - Which is why I ask.
Cheers

I had a T68i which was great until the joystick failed! I know of others where the joystick gave problems with time. As the T68i has been out of production for a few years, any offered on E-Bay will have had quite a bit of use. Satisfy yourself that the Joystick responds as you would expect in all directions, as well as responding reliably to a "click".
Also, in addition to a green flashing LED when powered on, you get a blue flashing LED when the Bluetooth is on. I found it really irritating at night.
I'm now using a T610 which is, in my opinion, a vastly better phone in every respect.
