It is my understanding that '05 E60s in canada come with Bluetooth and all that is needed to use it is get dealer to activate it right? My service advisor said I need to pay $750 in parts/installation to get it to work with my SE K750i? What's going on? Any help is appreciated..

It should have been activated from the factory if it was May 04 production or later. Check to see if BT comes up in your communications menu or in vehicle settings menu via idrive. If it is there, all you need to do is pair the phone to the car. If BT is not on the menus, you will need to have it activated by your dealer and it should not cost you a thing as I believe BT was standard on 05 Models built after May 1. If it is an early 05 build (February or March, then you will need to update the software and have BT enabled. Dealers have been instructed to charge customers with early 05 builds to enable BT as BMW will not pick up the warranty costs. Now if you can get your CIP update under warranty, BT activation should not cost you.

Edited to show correct production dates for BT.

It' hard to understand exactly what you're saying but from what I gather from your post, it seems that the dealer screwed up your software load big time!
