My warrant expires next month. Before it complete ran out I wanted to finally get the comms upgraded. Gary from Newport provided the parts (thanks much) and Bert Smith BMW, St Pete, FL did the work. Picked it up last night. Everything loaded and worked great. Didn't have a lot of time to play with it but the address book loaded and I made and received a couple of calls. Parts and labor came out to about $600. They charged two hours of labor for the CPT 9000 install and then 20 minutes to program. Lot cheaper than re-doing the TCU but it ties you to certain phones. I don't have a problem with that and the Motorola 550V that I got over 4 years ago with Cingular (now AT&T) works great. One of these days I may be able to afford an upgrade. But for now, I believe my car is now where it should have been when I bought it. However, it only has 30K on it so it will be around for a while.
