According to BMW ConnectedDrive my car should be able to download and activative, but all my options are 'greyed' out. Does anyone know a method to get around this?
Also is there any indication to know when the car is uploadign/downloading information to BMW ConnectedDrive?
Thanks

You'll need to get the services enabled by BMW UK - go to the BMW website and owner area - fill out the form and send it in - if you require a subscription, they'll want ?120 pa. You can ask for a 2 week trial before you decide if you want it - see what they say.

Most likely your TCU then. They had to order mine from Germany.

At the moment (well for the past two days) my car is being recoded so Im hoping that everything will be addressed. I also spoke to BMW connecteddrive before the car when in and they told me that if it cannot connect the dealer can plug the car in so that any updates that need to be sent to the car can be.
If I was you and the car is under warrantee, take it back and tell him to fix it, since its not 100% working.
