Bluetooth - What happens with 2 phones?
#1
I have a SE K700i which whilst doesn't have a cradle for the E60 yet does seem to be fully compatible, with the phonebook downloading etc.

So once I've paired my phone up I'll be able to get in the car and access the phone via the car controls, all fine so far.
Now what happens when my wife drives the car? She has a Motorola V620 which is also fully compatible so when she drives (after her phone has been paired) will her phonebook overwrite mine and she can just use the car controls?
An then when I next drive my phone takes over again? etc.

I have 2 phones paired in my car, I have a Nokia 6310 & wife has Sony T610. Both phones work fine individually, phonebooks etc are there, but the car does get confused when both phones are switched on at the same time. The phone which is top of the list takes priority, so if it was the 6310 then that is what you see in the Idrive menu, phonebook etc. By changing the priority on Idrive when both phones are on dosn't seem to work. The original highest retains priority, until you switch it off!, then the other takes over.

I believe this is the a firmware issue with the phone. Can't find the reference at the moment but I saw a post somewhere saying that problem disappeared after upgrading the firmware on the phone to the latest version.

If you have a DSS-20 or DSS-25 docking station you can try using SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) to update the firmware yourself or take your phone into SE Service Centre and get them to upgrade it.
To check your current firmware level perform the following:
>*<<*<*
Where < and > represents pushing the joystick left and right respectively.
Loads of info on updating the K700i can be found starting at
Esato
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with the K700i - and there are loads of posts on this (do a search). I tried the upgrade - even got it sent off to Sony, but no joy. I seem to remember that it is linked to the SMS buffer - if you have more than (?) 10 messages stored in your inbox, the BT tries to read them but cannot, so crashes the system. Try deleting any messages in your inbox.
I like to hang on to messages until I've dealt with them, so this drove me mad and I "downgraded" to a T610 which works perfectly!!
