Having succesfully paired my Nokia 6310i with Bluetooth I had expected to be able to read my text messages on the display screen. I had read somewhere, here I think, but a search has given me no Joy, that with this particular phone a text message being recieved would (as the Bluetooth handbook says) cause an envelope icon to be displayed at the bottom of the display screen. When I receive one it is audible on my telephone handset but does not even produce the envelope icon on my phone's screen as it would normally do when not paired. Eerie.....

Any ideas?

Thanks in anticipation.........

SMS text messages are displayed on the iDrive screen only through the hardwired phone and NOT through Bluetooth.

I was disappointed too.

Actually.... I think the Sony phones work with SMS. Anyone with a Sony confirm?

Sony phones seem to be the MOST compatible with BMW bluetooth.

I have a Sony phone and bluetooth but never had SMS on screen. When you say Hardwired Bluetooth I only have the UK version which shows all no's stored in the phone on screen etc. I didn't know there was a BMW non-hardwired system. What does that entail?

Hardwired means no Bluetooth.

My CPT-9000 phone supports SMS messages on the LCD screen.
