Has anyone gotten anywhere with swapping a 9/03 build date e60 TCU with a newer one to add bluetooth? Any success? Did any of you have a bluetooth antenna installed in the car from the factory?

DO NOT PAY THE DEALER, IT IS B.S.
I am having my TCU programmed at a Indy shop for $150. Read my post:

I had my TCU replaced and programmed yesterday. I'll be picking it up on tuesday. Everything went through and i'm waiting for them to fully test things. I stopped by yesterday and watched the programming finish. My i level is updated, my cip is updated and the TCU is fully functional.

I've got a chance to pick up a TCU from a salvage yard as well. It is from an '08 E60, whilst mine is a '05 E60.
Now the funny thing is, when I bought a used Pro Nav from ebay, I fitted it in myself and it worked a charm without any programming. It also has communication settings, in which there is an option for Telephone = Not fitted, and Bluetooth = option to activate the bluetooth is there, but cause I haven't a TCU, it does nothing.
Am I right in guessing all I need to do is get a Bluetooth TCU and plug it in and both those options, that seem to be already activated, will begin working.
Also, I fitted the Voice recognition button, wires and mic, but it doesn't work, no beep. Will the TCU have any effect on that. Basically, will it make it work. The reason I'm guessing this, is because, the Pro Nav has allo the above options, so wouldn't it have voice command to work with the bluetooth? You would have thought it was part and parcel with the setup.

I installed a new Bluetooth enabled TCU in my car and took to the dealer for programming.
My dealer refused saying the software retrofit was likely to damage my car. After talking to the service manager, he said they would do it, but it would cost at least 6.5 hours of labor. This seems like way too much labor in my opinion, especially saying I have installed the TCU already.
How much have others had to pay to have the retrofit done?

Trust me. Here's what you'll need to do. Locate your TCU in your trunk. It's on the drivers side behind the fitted carpet trunk liner. There are likely two computers there. The long rectangular one is the TCU. You'll notice a big sticker on it. If you don't see the sticker, it's on the other side. To see the sticker on the other side, remove the 4 bolts. It's easy. Get the part number off the sticker. Call the BMW dealership in Minnetonka, MN. I realize you may not live in MN, but they know what they are doing. You will need to give them your VIN number and TCU part number. They will research it and find out if it can successfully be updated (or "retrofitted"). Once you get confirmation it can be, then take it to your local dealership. I wouldn't pay more than $250 for it.
It may take many hours to update it, because they have to update all computers in your car. However, they don't do much of the work, the computer does most of it. So a reasonable dealership will charge you a flat fee for the software update. As I said, I paid 187.50 even though it took about 4.5 hours.
