Bluetooth module, faulty
Hi
My first post on your forum, hope you can help me out a bit.
The Mulf module/bluetooth module in my car has stopped working, I took it out from the car yesterday. Took a picture of the label with the info.
The car is a E60 2004 525d
My questions is, can I buy a used one? BMW workshop here in Norway is expencive as &"#%.
If so, do the part nr need to be the exact same?
And do the car need coding after installation?
Thanks for all help.
-Roger

Hi if you replace the ulf module it will require for your stealer to recode it to work in your car.
I had a similar issue...So finally figured that the ulf module was dead, you can tell because, there is no red lights seen coming from it. I unclipped all the connectors and unscrew the torx screws. Looked at the pins in the white plastic connector and one of them first column, second row was loose and after looking at the pcd found it was disconnected. I used a soldering iron to drop some solder to join the pin to the PCB and hey presto the dead ulf module now works!
It IS definitely worth opening the module up to check that all the pins are ok and connected, i had exactly the same frustration. The bluetooth module actually stopped working after I had taken it to BMW stealer in maidenhead, but they denied it was their fault and offered to fix it for about 800quid!
Anyway after looking at the module I was lucky to find the broken pin, good luck buddy!
