We are trying to figure out what might be the issue with regards to my Bluetooth module. Here are the syptoms:
1) The phone (HTC tytn) pairs just fine.
2) I can hear caller through the sound system just fine.
3) The caller can not hear me - !
4) Bluetooth voice prompt through the car speakers works male voise can understand my commands.
4) Volume is turned up on the stereo, the voice recognition volume is all the way up and the volume on the HTC is all the way up.
5) Stereo speakers work just fine, and so does the male voice
Any thoughts from any of you guys?????

The dealer must activate CPT9000 option in your i-drive system, not to activate the Bluetooth option in i-drive... very common error done by dealers... so tell them to deactivate the bluetooth option in the options menu, and activate the CPT9000 phone... then the module should be fine...

I think there is some confusion going on here...
Are you using the "Bluetooth Upgrade Module" (BTUM) which is installed in the center console where the older, hardwired CPT9000 phone would go or are you using the native Bluetooth from the TCU?

no matter whether you have the old TCU or the new... if you have the BTUM which is plugged with the CPT9000 set, you must have CPT9000 activated in the car... if you activate the Bluetooth option while the CPT9000 is set up with the BTUM, your car will have conflict with the new TCU and the BTUM... so regardless of what TCU, the CPT9000 has to be coded for Bluetooth to run properly... I assume the TCU is an old one, because of your symptoms mentioned there

That is correct but it's not clear to me that the OP is even using the BTUM so I'm looking for clarification...

"NO I AM NOT USING THE BTUM" So you think my TCU is no good? after spending $500 on getting this far I am dicoraged the SA asured me it should work & you want to tell me the BMW tech did not test it befor the car was returned. Do not take your Car to BMW Autohaus in Toronto the service sucks, crooks be wear. any advice??
It's not uncommon for the dealers to screw this up a few times before finally getting it right. There have been issues with microphones too in the past so yes, maybe they didn't program things right and maybe there is a problem somewhere else. Just get them to fix it -- have them call you from the car before you go down to pick it up this time!

What is the build date of your E60? If it is pre Mar 04, it is your TCU.
The symptoms you describe are exactly the same as I had with my previous E60. I ended up replacing the TCU to get full BT working.
