I use a Blackberry 7290. I did the software upgrade to have the address book synched and had it working fine for several months now but on a recent trip outside of my country it started to continuously disconnect and then briefly connect again. Once in a while it will pair but when it does the address book no longer syncs with the I-Drive screen. I tried pairing a different phone with the car but the option to pair a new phone is no longer avilable in the "Communication Interface" I-drive menu. Dealer visit scheduled next week anyhow but I'm just wondering whether there's an easy fix?

I am not sure about a Blackberry, but this occurs on other phones if you have SMS messages in your Inbox (or outbox). Try and remove any you may have there and retry.

Nope that didn't help. Let's see what the dealer says. It's bizzare that I cannot get into the menu which allows you to pair up a different phone.
