blackberry from hell

just bought a 530d sport but to my mismay my blackberry 8800 doesnt want to play. According to the bmw website its compatible from 07 onwards (its an 04 car) does anyone know if I can upgrade the idrive software?

It may not be the BlackBerry's fault -- does the car even have Bluetooth available? (Do you see anything related to Bluetooth on the iDrive menus?) If not, depending on when it was built, you might be able to get it enabled via software only.

Don't get too torqued up. I have a Blackberry 8830 from Verizon and it synched up perfectly on the first try. This may be operator error. Please double check both the BB manual and the BMW manual to make sure you have them both in the desired mode to search for one another. Let me know if you need more help.
