I've upgraded my BB Curve to Bold, what a great phone. Here's what's happening and not sure why: three times now when I start the car the Bold sync with the E60 but no address book downloaded, then manually I have to transfer the address book to the E60. There's other days where it works like a charm. That never happened with the Curve. Also sometime I notice is sync and download the address book in less than a minute and there is other days where it takes 1.5 minute to download the data. Any idea why sometimes the address book is not being downloaded? Also why sometimes it takes less time to sync?

P.S. I deleted the phone from the iDrive once and re-paired it to see if this is going to fix the problem. It is now 24 HRS and still working fine but I am still curious why this is happening?

The only thing I can think of is that it takes some time to fully synchronize a new device. The first time you sync it, you need to allow enough time for everything to transfer (depending on how many contacts you have, it could take many minutes...)

Is it possible that you weren't allowing enough time for everything to settle down?

Rudy, you are right the first time it takes several minutes to download the contacts of the BB which it did. As I mentioned earlier sometimes it download the address book and there is other times where it wont like this morning. I wonder what's causing this!

I found the attached document on the BMW website the a listing of all tested phones that works with BMW BT, only the BB 8100, 8300 & 8800 listed. Is it possible that the E60 needs a firmware upgrade for the BB 9000 to work?

nah, i have the new 4.5x OS and it works fine with my LCI.

i just think he needs to let it fully load initially and should be fine going forward. when i set up my contact list via BT, i only had to sync once...not everytime the phone would pair.

my bad, you're 100% correct!

but nevertheless, sync'ing the contact list should only be happening once not every time.

The exact same thing happened with my Bold at first! I deleted my phone from iDrive as you did, took the battery out of my phone and tried again. I had to do this twice before it started to work correctly. Havn't had a problem since!

btw Moopai I hope to see you at the GTA meet Sept. 21st!
