I am having problems with it pairing and putting the address book completly on.It only does letteres A to J.Does anyone have a solution?

 

how many contacts do you have? Try breaking up your contacts into subgroups to limit the amount of contacts paired, if it's a "large" number...

 

Thanks.I was told by BMW Assist that the maximum number of contacts it will store is 500 numbers. If one contact has 4 numbers, for example it lists all four.My SA took out his crappy low tech phone and it paired and put all his contacts from A to Z in and so he exclaimed "it works" I find it hard to believe that a car this sophisticated can only hold 10 letters of the alphabet data!

 

so how many contacts and/or # of entries are you trying to pair?

 

The BB does not give you a total, but I probably have 400 contacts, with each name having on average 3 numbers=1200 total, would be my guess.

 

definitely need to create some sub-groups to limit the number of contact numbers paired...

Regardless of what your dealer told you, the car should be able to transfer more than 500 contacts (there is a limit but I think it's higher than that.)

The problem you may be having is one that deals with "contact groups". If you have any contact groups defined on the phone, the car will stop transferring phone book entries as soon as it hits the first entry that's part of a contact group. If you don't have any contact groups, then yes, you can use categories and then tell the phone to transfer only specific categories to the car..
