Black v3 with t-mobile work?

My Ride: 530i
I just got my car upgraded for bluetooth. My phone communicates with my car only with my address book. When I try to select a contact and dial, the display shows "calling" then "ended".
Anyone have success pairing their black t-mobile v3? Am I doing something wrong?
I also want to add, my phone is unlocked (unbranded).
