Hi all. New to the forums, but here a first question: I have a BB 730g which will not pair with my Sept 05 525d (I previously had an 03 (E39) 530d with which the phone would pair?!?) When I ask the phone to look for Bluetooth devices it doesnt find the car. I know the Bluetooth in my car is switched on because it pairs with my old Nokia 6230.
Any ideas? I have updated to the latest BB software, so will it depend on the software on my car (which in theory should be more up to date than on my old E39)? How do I find out which version it has...
Many thanks

Second, just because it works on the E39 doesn?t mean it will work on a totally different telematics unit.
If you have not had your car?s sw updated since you got it, it is conceivable that a newer version of Progman might help but the cost of getting the Progman upgrade will exceed the cost of a new BB.

Please help!! I originally had a samsung D500 paired to my 07 530i, but I just got a new BB Pearl, but no matter what I try, the devices just wont find eachother! Please help.
are there any steps to accomplish this? Do I have to first somehow erase the previouse phone in memory?
Thanks

I experienced prob with paring as well. However, I shutdown the BB Perl and power it back up (3 times, after BT pairing problems) and now it works just fine. I have two different devices successfully paired to my 545i right now (BB Perl & Samsung Blackjack). Good luck

Blackberry Pearl will pair. Delete the phone from the car and the car from the phone. Before repairing, go to the bluetooth settings on the Pearl and where it says Discoverble or Visible make sure you have it set to yes and not hidden and also make sure Allow Transfer Entries is on yes. Now go and repair the phone when it after pairing is complete the phone will have a message that will say BMW##### wants to connect allow connection, select yes , BUT before you select yes at the bottom of that message it will ask "don't ask this again" make sure that is checked ON then click yes. Now it will connect everytime you start the car.

You also have to tell the BB Pearl to transfer the address book to the BMW. When I took delivery of my car, they tried to pair it for me. We both thought it wasn't working and gave up and starting going over other features of the car, and then suddenly it worked. It just took a while for the address book to transfer, and then it worked fine.

I had a similar problem with my new BB 8800.
Found a post in a forum that pointed to a problem with the address book. If you set up a group in your contact list....that is blocking the transfer into the car during the snych process. Delete your groups and try again. Should work.
