BB Pearl Pairing
#1
I tired pairing a customers Pearl to his 07 530xi today and it was unsuccessful. The phone and car both found each other. The phone, however, kept asking me if I would like to establish a connection to the car, I selected yes naturally. After that, you saw Blackberry appear in the car and the clock showing that it was loading up, however it never finally paired. I tired shutting the car off, shutting the phone off, and nothing worked. Any thoughts?

Mine worked fine the first time - got the phonebook and everything.
You might try clearing everything and starting over.
If you look in the BT forum, others have had similar success with the BB Pearl.

I tired that also and that is what would have solved the problem. He did have over 1,500 contacts he said, but I will take a look at that! Thanks!!!

How long did you wait for the contacts to transfer the first time? Usually, in the cases where there are a lot of contacts, it takes quite a while to transfer (which leads you to believe that something isn't working properly...)
On my Blackberry, I have over 1500 contacts and I get a full transfer up to about the letter "T" in the alphabet (so it's more than 250, that's for sure.)
One of these days, I'm going to archive some of the older contacts so I can get them all to come over...

Well, it never uploaded anything. It just kept disconnecting. I put up this thread on M5board.com and people said that when they disconnected the transfer address book feature that helped. However, does that mean that no numbers will appear in the Communications menu?

I got mine to work fine it just took awhile for the address book to download. I have a 2005 530i
Please confirm that your 2005 530i paired with a Blackberry Pearl and had full phonebook capabilities. I had a BB (earlier model) and could not get phonebook so I returned it and now have a razr.

I have a 2005 525 and just paired my Blackberry Pearl with it without any problems. All numbers in my Outlook address book loaded also.

Hi all. New to the forums, but here a first question: I have a BB 730g which will not pair with my Sept 05 525d (I previously had an 03 (E39) 530d with which the phone would pair?!?) When I ask the phone to look for Bluetooth devices it doesnt find the car. I know the Bluetooth in my car is switched on because it pairs with my old Nokia 6230.
Any ideas? I have updated to the latest BB software, so will it depend on the software on my car (which in theory should be more up to date than on my old E39)? How do I find out which version it has...
Many thanks
