Hi, I have an 05/04 545i and looking to get the newest software version installed. I also have purchased the ipod integration kit and plan on installing that after the software upgrade. I researched and read the Service Bulletin so should be able to have bluetooth activated without a new TCU. Any recommendations of bmw dealerships/technicians to go to in san diego for this? What should I expect to pay for this? Trying avoid getting the run around and gouged as much as possible at the dealer.

Thanks,
-Jon

I'm in the exact same boat. I have an 03/2004 (production date) 545i and I'm looking to get the software update. I have an appointment scheduled with the local dealership here in Orange County and they say it's is going to cost me approx. $330. Have you been able to find out anything?

I have an 03/04 530i and got my BT enable without costing anything cuz my car is still under the new vehicle warranty. I told them some problems with my car and those issues according to the service bulletins require a software update to correct and at the same time I requested for my BT and mp3 playability to be enabled. Keep in mind, if you go in asking BMW to just update your software to enable BT, they will charge you for it. If you need a good SA in San Diego, I highly recommend Miriam Cortez at BMW of San Diego, I have yet to have any problems with her. Good Luck
