I just got a new Motorola Razr with Verizon service and was wondering if anyone had successfully paired this phone with the bluetooth connection in the car. My preliminary efforts have failed, although I must admit I haven't read the instructions all that closely yet.

May well be the most used phone in an E60 although with Verizon as service provider it may be questionable. Really need to do a search over on our Bluetooth and Cell Phone forum. There you will find MANY threads/posts regarding your subject.

Razr is great with Cingular.

Razr from Cingular is one of the BMW approved BT phones. Verizon cripples their BT stack (so you have to pay their network fees), so not surprising it won't pair. But since you said you haven't read the instructions that closely, suggest you do!

I bought a Razor with Cingular Service just for my car a few weeks ago. It works great but call waiting doesnt work. I hear the beep and if I dont click over it ends the call Im on. If I click over using the phone it hangs up if I go back to the original call. I believe it works if I click over and stay on that call. I plan to test this out later. I hear it's a I-drive problem. Hopefully BMW will come out with an update soon.

I have successfully mated both by V551 and my wife's Black RAZR with the car's bluetooth. I have Cingular, though.

Also works great with T-Mobile. I have the same call-waiting problem, its not the phone, its I-Drive.

Verizon disables some bluetooth functionalities in their phones.
Verison sucks.
Verizon is being sued.

Did I mention that I don't like Verizon?

Okay, it works! It even imported the phone book. I knew that with a little persistence I could successfully avoid reading the manual!
