Looking for current Sprint phones that will pair and operate well with 535i. Not looking for expensive PDA phones / MP3 player, etc... Just a good basic flip phone that'll work. I'm not adverse to switching to Verizon, but my plan with discounts on Sprint won't be available on Verizon. Oh... I'm not locked into a contract right now. My 2-years was up in December.

When I got my 550 in November, my Samsung A900 from Sprint had issues. It would pair but when the car went into sleep mode, it would drop the phone from memory and I would have to repair. I switched to a basic Motorola RAZR V3. Like you, got the discount and had no need for PDA or MP3 capability. It works like a charm, repairs every time, downloads contacts etc. Others have reported the new V8 (I think that's what it is) works as well. Motorolas in general seem to work very well...

Thanks for the quick response. My 535i will arrive in early March. I'll wait till the car gets here befoer I go looking for new phones. But I'll take suggestions now and look at what Sprint has to offer so I'll be ready when the time comes !!

Ah the wait!!! We all know it well. Sounds like you don't need it but most if not all the Blackberry devices seem to work well too. In researching my Samsung issue here and elsewhere, many seemed to have problems with Samsung. Did see a recent post of a Sprint Samsung user working well. Either way keep in mind that you usually have 14 days to return a phone no questions asked (maybe some nominal restock fee). Pick what you like and give it a try...
