I previously had what I think was 14.0 (or something close to that) and a couple weeks ago I had 15.2 loaded. When I had 14.0 and went through the menu to the phone screen and got to Bluetooth....I saw the "pairing" screen...and I could try to pair the phone (never worked but it would try).

Now interestingly with 15.2 when I navigate to the phone screen...it simply gives me a message that says "please see your service center." I call my service center and they want $300 to pair a phone...so am I SOL now...I was really looking forward to trying to pair the phone again using the instructions on this site but now it looks like my 15.2 wont give me the option to even try??

If this has been discussed here before?.my apologies?I must have missed it

They forgot to code for Bluetooth. Take it back and have them do it properly. Why did you get the upgrade to 15.2

I hadn't had the emissions recall performed...I believe the fix for that was loading the latest rev of software...and in my case that was 15.2? As far as your comment regrading "coding" for Bluetooth...I just assumed that, that was simply a function of the rev of software you were running. Obviously I was wrong...so this is an issue different than "pairing" and different than getting the proper rev of software...on my return visit I need to ask them to code for BLuetooth...is that right? I'm sure this has been discussed a 1000x's before here...but I stopped trying to keep up with the BLuetooth conversations here a couple months ago so I missed it...thanks for the info

That is correct. It seems that they were careless in the upgrade. My mechanic spends some time to right down settings before an upgrade. You obviously had the BT coding but the fact that you could not pair the phone could mean you have an older TCU (pre-March04 production). If that is NOT the case then they should have coded for BT when upgrading.

I get the same "Please see your service center" message on the phone screen. However, I am still able to pair with and use my bluetooth phone. The bluetooth pairing screen in my software version is under the center imenu --> communications settings --> bluetooth, not the phone screen. I don't know what software version I have, but it is a late January 05 build. Your bluetooth may still be there in the new software version, just a different location than before.
