There's talk of the CS concept being put into production. Hopefully that doesn't curtail the possibilities of this being the look of the upcoming 7.

I've been skeptical to the idea of BMW being able to top MB's S class. In my eyes, this would do it.

Or Hell, it looks a little short, the next F10 M5 will do.

Thoughts?

I understand that the design language for the future cars is all based on the CS , that said I would expect this new 7 could look very similar to this conceptual image ..... lets hope !!

I got an "insider" insight today that the new 7 will be a close resemblance of the CS , this is great news for the future design for the F10 and all BMWs...... all of the concepts I've seen for the F10 don't give me any emotion other the BLAHHHHHHH. The CS is really quite an exceptional design, and strategy for BMW . From MHO I think this is going to be the springboard for the BMW brand to leap ahead of MB on the premium side of the portfolio , I've personally always given the SL and above segments to MB and the E and below to BMW . I think the future is going to be written by "Our Team"

If you look at the CS you can definitely see how it had an impact on the new X5.... carry that forward and consider how badly BMW wants to correct the 7 series and I'm betting they will hit this one out of the park !! When you carry this one step forward again, the 5 series is next ...... they did a very nice job on the 3 , the X5 is new , the 1 series is around the corner ,the X6 is coming and now this very important sedan is in "redesign" ............... I'm saving up for what (I think )will be a knock out !!

Cheers

where did you see or read any story that BMW want to "correct" the 7 series???? the e65 has been an unbelievable success for BMW, both in sales and more importantly in design, so much so that even MB has taken its design cues, as has every other car manufacturer for that matter!

it is time for a new design, but id never say that the new car will correct the e65, it will move it even further forward so the competition will now again need to catch up

i too cant wait to see the new 7, but im not sure if its going to be the CS type of car...it will have some design features like all new cars have borrowed from the concept, but from the early write ups, the CS is a bigger car overall with different proportions, perhaps in competiton with the Quattroporte or the soon to be release Rapide and then the Panamera...we'llhave to sit back and watch the show unfold, but it should be fun

The next Gen probably will look something like this:
Attachment 41504

And the prototype:
Attachment 41505

Doesn't look good at all in my opinion!!! Mercs and audi have done far better on exterior design than BMW in recent years! Or even interior!
