I've been having problem with my 5 series lately especially when it's only 70K miles. Thinking of moving to the 7 series. Have never driven one before since my wife doesn't like large long car. From what I'm reading online so far, it's basically the same engine as my 550. Does it have that infamous transmission slam problem? If there are any other problems I should be aware off, please feel free to let me know. Still debating between the 7 or the CLS 550.

Thank you for your time.

I purchased 2008 750 in October and have put 15,000 miles on it (total now 27,000). No issues at all.

We've had our '04 E66 745Li who has done 150,000 miles.
We spend less than USD3,000 per year to fix it.

Well don't know much about the 7's? but my 2004 645cic. i have approx 120,000 miles on it & it cost me so far ... $8000 in one year to repair!!!!! water pump, transmission gasket, engine gasket, whole right side head lights with all 3 relays, rear wheel bearing, and list keep on going...so not sure how reliable do you think the 7 series is?
