Has anyone experienced this with their vehicles?

"Automatically" engaging park when you turn off the engine does not really describe the situation, from my experience (I have a 2008 750i Sport). The time between turning off the engine and seeing "Park" displayed seems to vary. Makes no difference though, if you have your foot on the brake when shutting down. I think if you relied on the shifter to keep the car from rolling and not have your foot on the brake, there could be some rollout.

The column shifter in the 7 series was an interesting idea as it saved of space on the console. Not surprising it didn't catch on though, as it is too different from norm for those who don't regularly drive the car (like my wife).

NO wonder that was placed under Yahoo finance news.. The investigation seems pretty pointless to me..
