I have never posted in this section of the forum before because I was un-qualified to do so with my measly 525i. I got rid of that car, and went crazy at the dealership - picking up a 2007 Mercedes S550...

I hated the 550, SUCH a boring car, it was fast but the interior was bland and the body lines got old very quickly. Also, too much $$ to spend on a car for me. Sold that, and yesterday I picked up what everyone told me not to - 2005 745Li - I am now one body style and one facelift behind where I am used to being with cars - but so far I really like this thing. It is non-sport package, but the price was great. I really doubt I will mod this thing quite in the same way I was inclined to mod the E60, but certain upgrades are mandatory.

One question I wanted to ask, and yes - I did search - my build date is 02/2005 - and the iDrive software seems really old looking compared to my E60. I called the dealer to see if there was a software update, but got no answers. This board has always been immensely informative - so can anyone definitively say if there has been iDrive updates since my build date?

Only other complaint I have is this blocky non-sport steering brick...the sport steering wheel is top of my swap-out list.

PS - Pics coming soon, but nothing exciting - just imagine a dark gray 7er with black interior.

Right on Charles congrats, not sure about the software update, but if it's possible there was a great write up recently on an agressive sport steering wheel swap, that was awesome I'm sure someone can post a link..

I got used to the brick steering wheel, how ever, I would also love the sport steering wheel.
