Are 22's going to be much rougher than 20's?

I'm thinking of getting some 22's. I currently have 20's. Is the ride going to be MUCH rougher?

That depends, do you like your fillings where they are? Or do you enjoy the dentist trip that much?

R u gonna put spinners on it..JK don't take things personal just having some E60 fun pls post pics if you do it..... depends on the offset of the wheels if anything they will rub but proper offset will help with ride comfort and proper tires is most important.

Well, since he posted on the 7 Series forum I assume he has one. In which case 22's will fit, with a scary thin tire, hope the roads are pool table smooth where you live.

+1. Between the significant increase in unspring weight in going from 20 inch wheels to 22 inch wheels plus the much shorter and stiffer sidewall of the 22 inch tire as opposed to the 20 inch tire, you should expect a significant decease in ride quality and increase in ride harshness.

Truthfully, I dont think its rougher, I think its better. With my OEM 19"s, the car rode tooooo soft for my taste. The 22"s tightened and firmed things close to my comfort level. Even lowered, I like it 100x more than stock. Next thing on my list are KW coilovers for more drop and firmness, and this cars done. I think my car being lowered, with 22"s, rides beter than most 3 series I have even driven. It comes down to personal preference.

Here's a teaser pic with the old rims.

That one big wheel and one ultra-short tire sidewall. There is no way that I would ever run on that in New York City as it would not last a week on the roads here. But in climates where there is no real winter and no freezing and thawing to create potholes, it might work. The size is a matter of subjective tastes. I don't like the wheel quite that big but others might.
