I am liking the tinted tail lights, but don't want a permanent solution. Hence I ordered some tail light tint from ebay. Application is a bitch, cant get it perfect lol bubble as hell. No one locally I know does this, hence I am trying to DIY it myself...

But before I proceed, and perfect this what are your guys thoughts on how it looks...

Heat gun, soap, water and an old credit card? That didnt work to take out most of the bubbles? One of my customers had that film done also, and it took almost a month for all the bubbles to vanish. But thats with our lovely Cali weather, in the middle of summer. I guess your bubbles will be gone by March. LOL. :P

as long as it matches the tint on your car/windows..you are good..can't tell in that light...

nothing worse then having tinted tails that don't match the tinted windows IMO...

On a dark color it looks good - what is the reduction in light output? Wouldn't want someone driving in your trunk because you couldn't be seen!

tbal 11-21-2009 06:57 PM

Nope, called a few tint shops, they said no try bodyshops. Called a few bodyshops and they said yea, but they use transparent paint, not film. :( I don't want a permanent solution incase I dont like it anymore...

Yes I will be doing the lower lights as well.

Im glad someone tried the tail light tint off of e-bay and posted the results.

I went the permanent approach and had the tail light painted with a tinted clear coat, but I also have a set of stock light sitting in the basement if I ever decide to go back to stock.

I can post pics later when I get on my desktop computer.
