It was a 2007 650i Vert, 6MT with 46,000 miles. Was my first 6-er vert test drive. Previously drove a 650i coupe (w/badly creaking moon roof) and two M6s w/carbon fiber roofs earlier this year.
Mostly docile handling and throttle response until I pushed the Sport button. Suspension tightened up, but what really surprised me was the throttle response. Is this what a Sprint Booster does? It was obvious that the throttle response was quite sharper. What I noticed most was the body flex. I realize this is common in all verts, but was a little annoying. Nice exhaust note. Is this common to all 4.8L's or just the 6-series? Maybe it was just because we had the top down and could hear it clearly. In the closed up coupe/sedan, you don't get much exhaust note, of course. Nice ride, but probably will never have a vert. I need to find a nice coupe without that creaking roof panel, or an M6. |
