I want to take my wheels apart. Question is, can I take the center piece (face) off/out myself? Do I need to take the tire off, or can I simply unbolt the bolts?

Anyone? Sam?

I took mine off with out having to take the tires off. I just let all the air out as possible before I started unbolting the screws.

You can do it either way, but I usually do it with the tire off of the wheel. I do it this way because I figure that since the wheel is already in pieces, why not just put a new seal on it at the same time also? Mark where the valve stem lines up on all 3 components on the wheel, and assemble it back in the same exact position.

As for the torque specs, you need to check that with the manufacturer of the wheels. Depening on what type of hardware the wheel use, Ive heard anywhere from 28-39 ft pounds. It may be doing a little too much, but I also use Loctite on the hardware when putting the wheels back together. Double check with the manufacturer of YOUR wheels. Just remember to tighten it using only hand tools, and when you torque it, do that in a star pattern until its all done.

What are you trying to do now?

Well, tossed the asanti's on today... I am not liking the brushed face anymore, thinking of powdercoating to matte black... What do you think? I want to try the matte face, chrome lip, than maybe change it to matte face, gloss black lip later...

Whats the torque specs on the asantis? Or how much do you tightened yours to?

Thanks Sam!
