Last week, I finally installed my SMG steeringwheel with the kit from my530i. All with the help from andy545.
I had all the parts lying around for a while, cause I couldn't find the time and get an appointment going with Andy. But finally..... it was worth the wait.

It was almost like 'plug and play'.

Because of the Active Steering, it had to be resetted since the battery was disconnected.
For this I went to my BMW dealer, they were very suprised and delighted to see the SMG steeringwheel working! on the steptronic.

So all thanx go out to Andy and Fred

Try to ask Fred nicely I'm sure he'll point you to the right direction...

I am going to do mine soon as well (to m5 steering wheel),
i have the active steering and does it mean i'll need to take it to the dealer for resetting the AS as well?
why would need the AS reset after disconnect the battery?

Cheers
keith

Now you just need the M5 shift knob and you're set! Great work. Looks awesome.
